“Otoko Onna Hana”
— which translates to "Man Woman Flower" — serves as the poignant title of this exhibition, a profound fusion of artistic contemplation and timeless beauty. It encapsulates a sentiment
beautifully expressed by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's "The Little Prince":
"It is useful because it is beautiful."
In a world racing towards an increasingly elusive future, where trends and fashions are ephemeral, this exhibition stands as a tranquil oasis, suspended in time. It beckons us to pause and ponder, just as we might in antiquity or the Edo period. Yet, its era is inconsequential, for it is a place
where time stands still, where beauty and meaning reign supreme. Here, we become Epicureans, savoring life's finer pleasures.
We take our time to explore, to appreciate, and to contemplate.
We become Stoics, finding wisdom and serenity in the midst of art's silent eloquence.
"Otoko Onna Hana" invites us to step out of the relentless rush of modernity and into a realm where the pace is gentle, the moments are savored, and the essence of humanity is encapsulated in the delicate strokes and hues of each artwork.
In this exhibition, the convergence of man, woman, and flower symbolizes the enduring
power of beauty and contemplation, a sanctuary from the ever-accelerating world.
It is a place where Saint-Exupéry's words ring true — "It is useful because it is beautiful" — reminding us that in the pursuit of timeless beauty, we find solace and meaning.
